Marlin - Tropic Star Lodge - Panama

Originally built as a luxurious private residence, Tropic Star has evolved into one of Central America’s finest billfishing retreats. During the winter months these waters are rich in both blue and black marlin that average 250 to 400 pounds, though 500 pound plus trophies are hardly unusual. Mid to late March brings a strong but brief run of striped marlin, while the spring and early summer are prime times for tackling the large numbers of sailfish migrating through the region. Off shore waters also have tuna, dorado and wahoo while the often overlooked in shore fishing features trophy roosterfish, jack and a host of snapper and grouper. The lodge’s fleet of 31’ Bertrams is run by a very experienced group of captains and mate. Accommodations are in a quite, scenic bay overlooking the ocean and feature pool, large main lodge and air-conditioned guest facilities.
