Bonefish and Permit - Deep Water Cay Club - Bahamas
One of the first
bonefish camps in the Bahamas and still one of the
best. Located at the east end of Grand Bahama
Island, DWCC guests have easy access to a network of
cays and flats that stretch for miles in most any
direction. Tides must flow through this
intricate, and sometimes restricting network. The
result is that tides can vary considerably from
location to location-it can be dead high in one spot
and quickly falling in another. Experienced guides
know how to play this process by strategically
moving from flat to flat, often offering long hours
of quality fishing time during any given day. Bones run large here, with three to four pounders
average. Five to eight pound bones are often
encountered, with double digit trophies taken
annually. The lodge maintains a top quality fleet of
16' Dolphin Super Skiffs, with well maintained
outboards, for each pair of anglers, along with an
experienced crew of guides who know the local waters
exceptionally well. In 2001 the lodge added a 26'
off-shore boat for anglers who want to prowl the
nearby blue water for dorado, wahoo, kingfish, tuna
and other denizens.
DWCC has always had a fine reputation for quality
accommodations, with air-conditioned, double
occupancy rooms standard in each cottage. The
sprawling main lodge features both lounge and dining
area. The lodge's large, accommodating staff works
24/7 to insure your stay is relaxing and memorable.
Trips can originate in either the US or easy to
reach Freeport, Grand Bahama.
