Peacock Bass - MV Discovery - Brazil

The MV Discovery is a live aboard houseboat that fishes a number of tributaries of the Amazon, searching out the best peacock bass fishing in areas where other live-aboards or camps do not go. Formerly, the Discovery catered only to Brazilian anglers, but under the watchful eye of peacock bass pioneer Erland von Sneidern, they have opened up their operation to American anglers. Peacocks, along with several other species of Pavon, are plentiful, with fish filled days and trophy opportunities excellent. For additional variety, anglers can target several kinds of giant catfish, pacu, piranha and even the occasional payara. Guides have been fishing these watersheds for many years, and utilize comfortable, stable fishing boats, with trolling motors, to move anglers up and down the watershed. Fully air-conditioned, with double occupancy staterooms and large lounge and dining areas, the Discovery provides a comfortable haven for it’s guests. Well prepared meals combine Brazilian favorites with American style entrees. The Discovery’s captain has been fishing these waters for many years and not only knows the best places to move the boat but also works hard to insure guest’s stay aboard is as satisfying and pleasant as the actual fishing. Season: July through September and January through late March. Rates Include: Reception and transfers to boat from Manaus, guided fishing, all meals, accommodations, beer and soft drinks.
