Lake Trout - Aylmer Lake Lodge - Northwest Territories
Simply one of the best lake trout fisheries anywhere. Located some 150 miles northeast of Great Slave Lake, trout average 8- to 15-pounds consistently. Twenty-plus pounders can be caught season round. The lodge record stands at 57 pounds. Aylmer’s cold waters keep trout close to the surface much of the time, so there’s no need for long runs to find good fishing: some of Aylmer’s largest trophies have been landed within sight of the camp. Target plentiful grayling or fly-out to newly discovered trophy pike lakes. Aylmer exists in a harsh, sometimes unforgiving environment but the lodge provides very comfortable, modern accommodations that go beyond the expectations of most guests. The Rebane family has owned and operated the lodge since it’s opening, and add a very personal touch to each trip.
