Salmon - Bear Paw Lodge - Alaska

An intimate lodge located on the famed upper Kenai River, with superb accommodations, gourmet meals and satisfying fishing within easy reach.  Schedule a mid-June through early July visit to target huge king salmon that can range beyond 50, even 60 pounds.  July and early August weeks bring great opportunities for chums, sockeyes and pink salmon while August and early September are a favorite time for acrobatic, tackle testing silver salmon.  Throughout the summer pursue trophy rainbow trout, char, dolly varden and delicate arctic grayling.  Weekly packages feature a combination of fly-outs to remote locations and day long float trips in up to date McKenzie drift boats, always with an experienced guide for each pair of anglers. Bear Paw's small size (it handles but eight anglers at a time) insures flexible daily scheduling and a highly personalized atmosphere.  Accommodations reflect Alaska's rugged heritage yet feature all the standard creature comforts, including sauna, Jacuzzi and pool/recreation room. The owner is a skilled chef with years of experience creating gourmet meals at  lodges in our American West and Europe, as well as an ardent angler. This insures that both the fishing and meals/accommodations receive top-notch attention each and every day of your stay.
