Salmon - Mission Lodge - Alaska
Situated on scenic lake Alegnagik, in the heart of
the Bristol Bay watershed, Mission has easy access
to a wealth of productive rivers. One of the
first lodges to use STOL (short take off and
landing) aircraft to land at hard to reach
locations, Mission offers daily fly- outs in both
wheeled and float equipped planes, combing a vast
area to find large concentrations of gamefish.
Once anglers arrive on site, fishing is done by
wading, or using the lodge's jet boats or rafts,
always with an experienced guide right at hand. This
region is famous for strong runs of all five Pacific
salmon, from large kings through silvers.
There's also a substantial rainbow fishery to be
explored, along with ever popular char, dolly varden
and grayling. Mission Lodge's three-story
facility offers top of the line accommodations, from
both single and double occupancy bedrooms, to full
bathroom facilities. There's even washers and dryers
on each level for guest's use, plus a large lounge,
big screen TV, hot tub and well stocked tackle shop.
Meals are always a highlight of a stay at Mission,
along with the highly personalized service delivered
by the lodge's large, friendly staff.
