Argentina Trout
Many describe Argentinas trout fishery as like our old west, only as it was over 50 years ago. For many, the lure of fishing streams that see few anglers annually is the main attraction. For others, its the fishing plus a scenic backdrop and a healthy dose of warm, Argentine hospitality and cuisine. The region around Esquel, in the southern half of Argentinas trout provinces, boasts a healthy mix of both browns and rainbows than run 14 to
16" typically, with season round chances for trophies over 20". During a typical stay, anglers will have opportunities to fish a variety of waters, from large to small. On some, such as the spring creek like Arroyo
Pescado, dry fly action is consistent and productive. On others, where trout gorge themselves on pancora crab, a bulky wolly bugger is the ticket. Wade or float, it makes no difference. In all cases, an experienced guide is always on hand to pick out just the right fly or point out a subtle hiding spot.
