Trout - Minipi Lakes - Labrador
Over 50 years ago, famed angler Lee Wulff discovered Labrador’s Minipi watershed. Even today, it’s considered one of the world’s premier brook trout locations. Brookies in the two to four pound class are average, with most anglers hooking, if not landing, trout that go better than five pounds. Six to eight pounders are an everyday possibility, with occasional trophies that exceed nine pounds. Three camps, each on a different lake in the system, spread out the angling pressure and provide abundant water for pursing these strong, beautiful trout. Landlocked arctic char and northern pike are also present, proving additional variety to a day’s fishing. Accommodations retain the rustic nature of this still unspoiled region, yet provide all the right comforts.
